Deepening as China-ASEAN Cooperation Development Strategies, with exceptional geographic advantages, Guangxi wins plenty of opportunities to cooperate  and  communicate with ASEAN member states in the field of science & technology, education, health, culture, etc. Under such circumstances, the college seizes the opportunities to develop dental education for foreign students, gradually growing its influences in the world. In 2008, approved by the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the college was renamed as Guangxi Medical University ASEAN International College of Stomatology, which is the largest multi-level stomatological institution of higher education to enroll undergraduates, postgraduates as well as PhD students from ASEAN countries at present.
